Keep Your Smile Healthy with Regular Cleanings & Checkups

At Little Egg Dental, we believe the best dental care is preventive care. Regular cleanings and checkups—typically every six months—are the foundation of a healthy mouth and a confident smile.

During your visit, our gentle hygienists remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing at home can't reach. Then, Dr. will perform a thorough examination, checking for cavities, gum disease, oral cancer, and other concerns before they become bigger problems.

What to Expect

Your cleaning and checkup appointment is relaxed and straightforward. We'll update your medical history, take any necessary X-rays, and then carefully clean and polish your teeth. We'll also measure gum health, check existing fillings or crowns, and screen for signs of grinding, jaw issues, or other conditions.

We take time to answer your questions and explain what we find in plain language—no confusing jargon. If we spot something that needs attention, we'll walk you through your options and next steps together.

Why Preventive Care Matters

Most dental problems start small and painless. A tiny cavity today can become a root canal tomorrow. Early gum disease is reversible; advanced gum disease is not. Regular checkups let us catch issues when they're easiest and least expensive to treat.

Plus, your oral health is connected to your overall health. Routine visits help us monitor conditions that can affect—or be affected by—your heart, diabetes, pregnancy, and more.

We're here to make dental care easy, comfortable, and stress-free for the whole family. Whether it's been six months or six years, we're glad to see you.

Common questions
How often should I come in for a cleaning and checkup?+

Most patients do well with a visit every six months. If you have gum disease, a history of cavities, or certain health conditions, we may recommend more frequent visits—usually every three to four months.

Will my cleaning hurt?+

Most cleanings are completely comfortable. If you have sensitive teeth or gum inflammation, let us know—we can adjust our technique, use a desensitizing gel, or offer numbing if needed. We'll always work at a pace that feels right for you.

Do I really need X-rays every time?+

No. We typically take a full set of X-rays every few years and smaller check-up X-rays once a year. X-rays help us see between teeth and below the gum line where problems hide. We only take what's necessary and use low-radiation digital sensors for your safety.
